Novel Estimation of Left Ventricular Filling Pressure Using 3-D Speckle-Tracking Echocardiography: Assessment in a Decompensated Systolic Heart Failure Model

چکیده

Abstract E/e′ allows for the non-invasive estimation of left ventricular (LV) filling pressure; however, Doppler malalignment can make unreliable, especially in dilated systolic failing hearts. The ratio peak early diastolic rate to global strain (FRe/SRe), which is a parameter derived from 3-D speckle-tracking echocardiography estimate pressure, may be better applied hearts because it obtained without method. We investigated whether FRe/SRe could provide pressure than E/e′ 23 dogs with decompensated heart failure induced by microembolization. had correlation coefficients LV end-diastolic (0.75–0.90) did (0.40). diagnostic accuracy distinguishing elevated was significantly higher that E/e′. Assessment of the left ventricular systolic function in cardiac syndrome X using speckle tracking echocardiography

OBJECTIVE The aim of this study was to evaluate left ventricular (LV) systolic strain by speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) and real-time three-dimensional echocardiography (3-DE) for the early detection of myocardial dysfunction in patients with cardiac syndrome X (CSX). METHODS We compared 34 patients with CSX (18 females, mean age 47.9±10.0 years) with 41 healthy persons as a control ...

Left atrial longitudinal strain by speckle tracking echocardiography correlates well with left ventricular filling pressures in patients with heart failure

BACKGROUND The combination of early transmitral inflow velocity and mitral annular tissue Doppler imaging (E/Em ratio) is widely applied to noninvasively estimate left ventricular (LV) filling pressures. However E/Em ratio has a significant gray zone and its accuracy in patients with heart failure is debated. Left atrial (LA) deformation analysis by speckle tracking echocardiography (STE) was r...

Estimation of left ventricular filling pressures by speckle tracking echocardiography in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy.

AIMS the ratio of early diastolic transmitral flow velocity (E) to early diastolic mitral annular velocity (E(a)) is frequently used to predict an increase in left ventricular filling pressure (LVFP). However, this approach has several limitations. The aim of this study was to test whether additional information is gained by new echocardiographic indexes utilizing strain and strain rate (SR) de...

Assessment of left atrial-left ventricular-arterial coupling using 2-dimensional speckle tracking echocardiography.

by 2D-STE, and investigated the effect of cardiovascular risk factors on LA-LV-arterial coupling.1 In their multivariate linear regression analysis, peak early diastolic LV longitudinal strain rate (SR-LVe) and E/e’/S-LAs were independent predictors related to abdominal aortic stiffness in patients with cardiovascular risk factors. On the other hand, only age contributed to abdominal aortic sti...

Subclinical left ventricular systolic dysfunction in patients with severe aortic stenosis: A speckle-tracking echocardiography study.

OBJECTIVE In patients with aortic stenosis (AS), the left ventricular (LV) geometry changes due to the increased LV afterload. However, subclinical myocardial dysfunction can develop despite a normal LV ejection fraction (EF). This study was an investigation of subclinical LV systolic dysfunction in patients with severe AS with a normal LV EF using a strain imaging method, speckle-tracking echo...
